Shima-enaga Snow Fairy Mini Rubber Stamp

A small cube-shaped wood-mounted rubber stamp of a shima-enaga, the round white long-tailed tit known in Japan as the snow fairy. The body prints as an open outline so it stays white on the page, the tail is inked solid black, and fine dashes mark the wing and breast against two thin twig legs.

Small enough to work as punctuation: perch one at the end of a diary entry, scatter a few across a letter or envelope, add them to winter and birdwatching pages, or drop one in a planner box. The open body takes colored pencil if you want to tint the cheeks or add a snowy background.

Designed by Kodomo no Kao, a Japanese stamp maker with a long history of illustrated wood-mounted rubber stamps for journaling and correspondence. Their designs are a mainstay of Japanese stationery shops and are collected worldwide for their hand-drawn character work.
