A 165mm santoku forged from white steel — the high-carbon steel favored by professional Japanese knife makers for its exceptional edge sharpness and ease of resharpening. The blade takes a keen edge and holds it through daily use; when it eventually dulls, a few passes on a whetstone bring it back fully.
The handle is covered in an allover pattern of golden cherry blossoms — blooms in two sizes scattered across a deep purple lacquer ground, interspersed with circular kikko lattice motifs in gold. The combination is rich and jewel-like, drawing from the layered textile traditions of Yuzen dyeing. Part of the Yuzen Saido series. Made in Japan.
