A little lidded box packed with 144 sheets of Mino washi origami paper: 6 patterned designs and 6 solid colors, 12 sheets of each. The patterns are soft modern takes on traditional Japanese komon motifs, plum blossoms, camellias, clouds, dots and scale repeats, so a folded crane keeps the print across its wings instead of losing it in the creases.
Washi folds differently than ordinary origami paper. It's fibrous and a touch softer, so creases settle without cracking and finished pieces hold their shape with a slightly textured, handmade look. Fold cranes and boxes for gift toppers and place settings, use flat sheets as backing for collage, card making and journal spreads, or line up the solid colors behind the patterns for two-tone folds. The box itself is sturdy enough to keep on a desk once the paper is gone.
The box comes in 6 cover designs, each printed with one of the paper patterns from the set. Every box holds the same 144 sheets, and we ship whichever cover is on hand, so it may not be the one in the photos.
