A Mino ware sake set in deep matte black with a fine crystalline surface texture — like iron sand caught in glaze — and burnished gold at the neck and rim of the tokkuri. The two ochoko share the same black exterior, but their interiors are a warm hammered gold that glows when sake is poured in. The contrast between the dark, textured outside and the luminous gold inside is the defining quality of this set.
The tokkuri has a full, round belly and pours cleanly. The ochoko are low and wide, comfortable to hold between two fingers. Arrives in a pale paulownia wood box brushed in calligraphy styling — no additional wrapping needed. Microwave (reheat setting) and dishwasher safe. Made in Japan.
