A large, hand-thrown Mino ware matcha bowl in a kiln-altered ame (candy) glaze — available in two colorways. The Red has a warm copper-rose surface with a deeply textured, almost crackled finish; the glaze layers produce a rich depth that shifts in different light, with a dark brown interior. The Blue has a soft powder-blue ground with dark speckles and a deep olive-charcoal base, the two glazes meeting in a dramatic horizontal band. Both bowls are wide and low with a substantial weight in the hand — the kind of piece that improves with use.
Because the glaze is applied by hand and fired in a kiln, no two bowls are identical. The color, texture, and depth of each piece will vary. Arrives in a wooden gift box — ready to give without additional wrapping. Microwave and dishwasher safe. Made in Japan.
