A 165mm santoku forged from white steel — the high-carbon steel favored by professional Japanese knife makers for its exceptional edge sharpness and ease of resharpening. The blade takes a keen edge and holds it through daily use; when it eventually dulls, a few passes on a whetstone bring it back fully.
The handle is covered in a dense allover pattern of golden bamboo stalks and leaves, with small white blossoms woven through — rendered in gold on a deep black lacquer ground. Bamboo in Japanese tradition symbolizes both grace and resilience, and the motif fills the handle from collar to tip without a gap. Part of the Yuzen Saido series. Made in Japan.
