A 165mm santoku forged from white steel — the high-carbon steel favored by professional Japanese knife makers for its exceptional edge sharpness and ease of resharpening. The blade takes a keen edge and holds it through daily use; when it eventually dulls, a few passes on a whetstone bring it back fully.
The handle depicts Fujin and Raijin — the Wind God and Thunder God of Japanese mythology — rendered in gold, white, and color detail against a deep black lacquer ground, with a large gold tomoe crest at the center. The imagery draws from one of the most celebrated motifs in Japanese art, translated here into a handle that commands as much attention as the blade. Part of the Washin Saido series. Made in Japan.
